This is my second post on our stay in stunning Tuscany Italy. In our last days in Tuscany we visited Florence, Colle di Val d’Elsa and explored the countryside again searching for flowers and beautiful landscapes. You can find my first post here.
Before we even started planning our trip to Europe, I was picturing fields of Spring flowers. Italy was one of the locations I was super excited about, so in our last few days a field of flowers was my goal!
This is charming Colle di Val d’Elsa – another beautiful Tuscan village.
We saw some beautiful fields at golden hour walking along the path from Poggibonsi to Colle val d’Elsa. The path follows an old railway line, and along the way we discovered a cat cemetery and shelters and food for the free or stray cats in the area.
We spent a day in Florence, which was really beautiful. I might have been a little obsessed with the skyline and shooting it from various vantage points.
Michelangelo’s Atlas sculpture – I’ve always been a fan of incomplete art. I love how you can see the journey the artist was going through to reveal the artwork within.
Michelangelo’s David
I loved these casts in the Accademia Gallery
Loved this bronze David replica at Piazzale Michelangelo
Stunning views over Florence from the cemetery at Basilica San Miniato al Monte.
Sunset on the Arno River – pretty magical!
Moon rise in Florence – so special!
This was our last day exploring Tuscany. The only goal was adventure and flowers!
Loving all the red poppies through the vineyard.
This was such a delicious treat – beautiful cheeses and an amazing chili jam I think it was.
I miss those beautiful cobbled streets! Look at that stunning door and those gorgeous old bricks.
Gorgeous Vespas – I’ll have the pink one thanks!
I really wanted to find a field of flowers in Tuscany, we were there too early in the season to see sunflowers, but I knew there were red poppies about. I was determined to find a field full, and on our last day we did! I love the tree, surrounded by flowers.
One more visit to beautiful Monteriggioni, I needed to see this stunning medieval walled town again and explore some other vantage points around it. Poor John waited in the car after a while, oops.
Rocca di Staggia Castle, Poggibonsi near where we were staying. The white wool webbing is an installation art piece.
