Athens – our European adventure

Athens was so much more than I expected! What a beautiful city! Here are some of my favourite images from this part of our European adventure earlier this year.

I’m slowly going through the many (many many) images I took on our European adventure, today I want to share Athens! When I thought of Greece before, I mainly thought of ancient monuments, but it’s so much more! I loved wondering the streets and all the amazing food! The scenery was lovely and relaxing on our balcony watching the sunset was magical.

We were in Athens almost a week after our elopement in Paros. The jacarandas were flowering and the poppies were out, we also had lovely weather.

We visited many of the ancient sights – I particularly loved the ruins of Hadrian’s Library – I loved that it was in the middle of the bustle of the city so we’d see it while out looking at shops. We visited the Acropolis first thing in the morning, which was really worth it to avoid the crowds. I loved the Erechtheion (which is why there are so many pictures of it!).
