Chris and Kirsty, what a beautiful day. This was a really special wedding with lots of personal touches put together by Chris, Kirsty and their friends and families. I’m really loving DIY weddings! Along with gorgeous weather and beautiful locations, not to mention the lovely bride and groom, and a heap of fun, this wedding was just perfect. The week leading up to their wedding I was checking the weather forecast, which was predicting a thunderstorm on the day. I had my umbrellas packed and ready but the weather stayed perfect and we had a rain free wedding.
The girls were wrapping the bouquets and boutonnières not long before the ceremony. Kirsty’s beautiful wedding gown was a replica of the dress her mother wore on her wedding day and was made by Kirsty’s grandmother which was very special. Chris even made a beautiful bar especially for their wedding day. Kirsty’s love of horses reflected in her horseshoe decorations (For Chris and Kirsty’s beautiful country engagement session with the horses check out this post).
Even the location had special significance, Eukarima the old Bowral Rudolf Steiner School where Kirsty went to school. We headed to historic Berrima for the formal shots. I Iove that town; so many beautiful old rustic buildings as well as gorgeous gardens and native bush. The light was magical down by the river, just beautiful.
I’ve known Kirsty for a long time; she’s such a beautiful person inside and out. She and Chris make a great couple, I’m so happy for both of them. It was a real pleasure witnessing and capturing their love and commitment to one another.
