So excited to share Hayley and Arthur’s colourful Winter Wedding in Sydney – a Beautiful celebration of love with elements of Persian and Christian traditions. Hayley and Arthur had a beautiful emotional day, filled with love, happiness and also some sadness, as Arthur’s best man was unable to attend their special day.
The ceremony was held at the Narwee Baptist Church. During the ceremony we witnessed a stunning Sofreh Aghd – an ancient Persian tradition which involves a spread with golden nuts, eggs, fresh fruits, and sweets for prosperity, fertility, sweetness as well as a mirror and candelabras. Sugar cones (Kalleh Ghand) are ground together over a veil protecting the couple’s heads, showering sugar over the couple, and they feed each other honey for sweetness.
I loved all the colourful details incorporated into the day, Hayley and her bridesmaid Amelia’s stunning suede boots and gorgeous bouquets which included poppies, cabbage and vines. The wedding cars were beautiful Mini Coopers, one of them Hayley’s own which was a nice touch.
